“A constant swell of waves with an undercurrent of peace”
This is what I have been describing when people ask me how I am feeling in this season of preparation to move abroad. There are countless logistics that need to be worked out, on top of the day to day grind that comes with caring for four children, homeschooling, and taking care of our home. However, even with all of the decisions to be made and constant to-do’s, there is a strong undercurrent of peace that is pulling us along. This peace can only be from the Lord; if it were from any other source, the waves would be overwhelming and seemingly impossible.
I have been meditating on Psalm 16 lately.
“I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure”
I am thankful to serve a God that gives us wisdom and counsel in the exact moments we need it. He goes before us and we are standing on solid ground, if we have put our trust in Him.
We can rejoice in knowing the Lord has the details worked out. This is the truth I stand in, as we prepare for this next season in our journey. I pray that you would place your trust in the Lord and surrender your life with open hands, knowing He is a loving Father who cares deeply for you and will work out every detail for your good and His glory.
Please pray for Nathan and I as we apply for a visa, look for housing, and prepare our children, as well as our own hearts for what is to come. We are grateful for each of you!
